Lucidus® Industrial Wash Flame Resistant (acc. to the EN 469:2006(U) norm)
Fluorescent-Photoluminescent Tapes (469 FL & 533 FL - series)
with Retro-reflective Stripe
Lime-Yellow Colour

General Description

Lucidus® retro-reflective and fluorescent-photoluminescent material (the 469 FO and 533 FO series) is a lime-yellow industrial wash and flame resistant fabric. An extremely durable, non-flammable fabric is covered with fluorescent, lime-yellow layer, photoluminescent pigment and a retro-reflective stripe installed in the middle.

The Lucidus® tape (the 469 FO and 533 FO series) was designed especially for high visibility safety clothing, like that used by fire fighters and fireproof work clothing, which must have a high temperature and weather resistance.

Retro-reflective Efficiency
and Colour Requirements

Lucidus® material (the 469 FL and 533 FL series) meets all the requirements of the EN 471 Class 2 norm. The conformity to this norm was affirmed by tests conducted in an independent laboratory and by appropriate certification.

The coefficient of retroflection (Ra in cd/lux/m2) is measured according to the procedure defined in CIE publication No. 54.2.

The minimum values of the coefficient of retroreflection measured at an appropriate entrance and observation angle are presented in the table below.

Photoluminescence (Glow-in-the-dark)

Although the photoluminescence is not required by the EN 471:2005 norm, A-SPE Polska strongly recommends this innovative product to improve safety standard of your products. After only 5 minutes of exposure to the daylight Lucidus® material (the 469 FO and 533 FO series) glows in dark enviroment for over 2 hours.

The table below depicts the photopic luminance (the measuerable value of light) emitted by our materias.

Efficiency and the Conditions of Use

The user should remember, that despite the ideal fluorescent and photoluminescent properties of the Lucidus® material (the 469 FO and 533 FO series), like all other reflective materials it does not guarantee 100% visibility in adverse weather conditions. In practise the actual fluorescent efficiency depends on the conditions of use. Unfavourable atmospheric conditions can essentially lower the visibility. For this reason the user should conduct tests of the material to be used to confirm that it meets their expectations as to specific conditions of use.

Physical Properties

In terms of the physical properties the Lucidus® material (the 469 FO and 533 FO series) conforms to the norms listed below, therefore, it meets or exceeds the listed specification:

The conformity to the norms above was affirmed by tests conducted in an independent laboratory and by appropriate certification.

469 and 533 Standards

Our materials are presented in two variants*:

  • products marked as "533" which conform with the standards of the EN 533 norm (tapes for general use),
  • products marked as "469" which conform with the standards of the EN 469:2006 norm (tapes for the fire departments).
*The technology and materials used for both products are the same except the surface fabric.

Instructions - Home Wash

  • wash in temperature not exceeding 60°C
  • in case of bleaching use non-chlorine bleach
  • during washing do not rub or wring
  • preferably hang out to dry
  • dry-clean normal cycle
  • iron at medium temperature (150°C)

Instructions - Industrial Wash

  • use low to medium alkaline and high-surfactant detergents.
  • do not use detergents with free sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide
  • stain treatment can substantially shorten the life of the material
  • max. wash temperature: 75°C
  • max. temperature of drying: 90°C (for tumble dryers) or 120°C (for tunnel dryers)
  • pressing not to exceed 150°C

Transport and Storage

The reflective material is packed in separate carton boxes which safeguard the rolls of material against mechanical damage. The separate boxes are additionally packed in 5s or 10s into a collective box. Packed in this way the reflective material can be transported by any means of transport, in conditions which ensure protection against precipitation, direct effect of sun rays and heavy mechanical damage. The reflective material can be stored in its original boxes in dry places for a period of up to 12 months.
